Can you believe that Love Children Home is celebrating its 30th year of ministry this month? Over the decades, we have walked alongside these leaders and their ministries, witnessing their incredible journeys. They have moved from asking God for basic needs like food and shelter to now leading a network of orphanages that serve over 500 children. Their impact has grown to include churches, a Bible school, a church-planting network, a private school, and various businesses that generate sustainable income.
I was truly blessed on this mission trip. I had the joy of bringing my 14-year-old son, Charlie, along with others like James, who is in his first year of Bible College. Also joining us were Peter, who serves on our Board of Directors, and Paul, our ministry partner from Nepal. Each of them was deeply impacted by the trip. I continue hearing reports from Myanmar about the difference they made. I asked each of them to share their experiences for our April newsletter. I hope their words encourage you as they reflect the impact you've made in Myanmar through years of faithful partnership in this ministry.
Charlie’s Testimony

This was the best week of my life. Spending time with the kids was incredible—they are so full of joy and kindness. They are the most genuine people I’ve ever met. This experience truly changed me. It was amazing to see how they find joy, despite their difficult circumstances.
My dad often shares a verse from Hosea 2:15. This verse talks about God’s promise to transform the “Valley of Pain” into the “Door of Hope.” While in Myanmar, I saw this promise come to life. The boys in this picture were rescued from the forest, where they had been hiding after their village burned down during the ongoing civil war in Myanmar. Despite everything they have endured, they treated us with such kindness. They are so resilient. I truly loved this trip.
James’ Testimony

The trip to Myanmar and Love Children Home was the most incredible experience of my life! I witnessed God's love in a way I had never seen before. American culture often teaches us that life revolves around material wealth, leading us to believe happiness comes from acquiring more. However, at LCH, I saw children with very few possessions. They live life to the fullest, overflowing with joy and love.
Their passion for Christ inspired me deeply. I've now understood what it means to live life fully, witnessing the abundance of God's grace and love. I pray that God will use me to bring that same joy and love to others, helping them share it as well.
Peter’s Testimony

I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to go on this mission trip to Myanmar with Bob, Paul, James, and Charlie. I’m still in awe of how joyful and free the children are, even though they have almost nothing. They place their full trust in God and love unconditionally.
From the moment we arrived, they loved us first. Being with them put my problems into perspective, making them seem small. I've learned from the children and my missionary brothers to trust God and let go of my worries. This was the best mission trip ever. I hope to carry the peace and love I experienced there into my daily life. I want to live as they do: loving first, loving freely, and forgiving others.
Paul’s Testimony

My time at LCH was truly life-changing. Hearing the children’s stories—how they lost their parents yet found hope in a loving, faith-filled family—touched my heart deeply. The presence of God on that campus is undeniable; you can feel it in the children’s passion for Him.
I’m inspired to see how soccer has positively shaped the children’s lives with discipline and confidence. This motivated me to bring that same impact to the areas where I work in Nepal. The leadership of Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Rosemary stands as an inspiring example, built on prayer, faith, and trust in the Lord. They embody the memory verse we had for the chapels: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight” - Proverbs 3:5-6. This mission trip stands out among all my experiences. I am especially grateful for the time spent with Bob—he is truly anointed for this work. I left encouraged and inspired.

Ministry From Kenya Reaching Into Rwanda

Esther Hall recently participated in a mission trip to Rwanda. There, they conducted a mission enrichment course for Christ Kingdom Mission College, which supports local churches in Rwanda. They also taught a mini-course on trauma, equipping the church to serve those who have experienced trauma and struggle with forgiveness.
Our global partners share a deep passion for cross-cultural missions. For example, Manuel in Cuba has a huge heart for Kenya. Paul has recently joined us for ministry in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Myanmar. Peter in Kitale, Kenya, serves a network of pastors in Uganda. Additionally, Esther’s team in Nairobi is actively involved in missions to northern areas of Kenya, Ethiopia, and Rwanda.
Jesus gave all Christians the calling known as The Great Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). We love seeing our global partners active in their villages, nations, and the world.
Myanmar Orphan Story

On our last day in Myanmar, we experienced a life-changing moment. Min Set Paing secured a job as a chef on a ship. He has worked incredibly hard for this achievement.
Min Set Paing and his sister grew up at Love Children’s Home as orphans from a young age. Elizabeth Thang is passionate about helping these young adults transition into their next steps in their walk with Jesus, careers, and relationships. It was inspiring to see him gain employment at that moment. He is set for success in many ways and is on his way to building a great future. We are so proud of you, Min Set Paing!
Food For Thought
The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.
Psalms 145:13-14 NLT
I recently watched a movie about climbers on Mount Everest. Some climbers successfully made the ascent, while others had to turn back. Tragically, some lost their lives on that mountain. In life, we face moments of joy and pain. However, we can trust that the Lord will keep His promises and remain gracious throughout it all. Let’s keep our eyes fixed on Him.
