We are so thankful for Pastor Keith and Becky Schommer, Going Global Inc. board members and pastors at Celebration Church in Green Bay. Their heart for missions and his deep love for the people of Myanmar have been evident for many years. They have faithfully encouraged pastors, taught leaders, and poured out love on the children who call Love Children’s Home their family.
This October, Keith returned to Myanmar with a team of six. What a joy to see him reconnect with old friends, share meals and laughter with the children, and witness how God continues to move in powerful ways. We are grateful for Keith’s leadership and for all that God did through him and his team on this trip.
Here’s a glimpse of what Keith and his team experienced in Myanmar…

Update from Keith Schommer:

A team of six of us just returned from Myanmar where we spent time with 100 plus orphans at Love Children Home, 26 students from Disciple Bible College, and many of the leaders of those areas. It has been 6 years since I’ve stepped foot on the campus and had the chance to see those beautiful faces. From the moment the gate slid open and the kids came running to the van, it felt like returning home.

A lot has happened in 6 years, which was stunningly obvious as we toured the campus, the college, and the Peter Thang Private School. God has truly been moving as the ministries have continued to strengthen and expand. It was so good to see Rebekah, Elizabeth, and Rosemary. These ladies, along with their leaders, are doing an incredible work despite turmoil and war in their country.

The week consisted of daily chapels filled with singing, teaching, and connecting. Daily crafts and games exploded with creativity, joy, and much laughter. The kids love to compete, so they were divided into three teams for competitions in soccer, solo songs, and group songs. They had so much fun! Over the course of the week, we had the privilege of bringing each of the children and many of the leaders out for a special dinner. Imagine bringing 25 kids out to eat at a time. It was a sweet adventure every single night. Elizabeth described it as “a time the kids look forward to like Christmas” as they may get to go out to eat once or twice a year. For many it was their first time going to the famous Seafood City. The smiles and gratitude on their faces were priceless.

Offering an opportunity for the kids to have a week of fun was such a gift for them and the team. Yet beyond the fun, we got to worship, laugh, cry, celebrate and trust God together. The love that was given and received was so genuine. Although we speak different languages and live in different cultures, the connection with each grew moment by moment.
The stories of water balloons, slip and slides, tissue paper flowers, face painting, candy, and laughter could go on and on. Yet the biggest story is that of an abundant life. John 10:10 says that you may have life and have it abundantly. What we experienced during this is a group of people in the midst of incredible economic and political challenges, living an abundant life through Christ! Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness and thank you all for your continued prayers and support of this ministry.
Together, we are impacting the world.

Grateful for you,
Keith Schommer

Spotlight: Santiago, Cuba

Our partner in Cuba, Manuel Robles and his team, recently returned from Santiago after a great week of ministry. The trip included a graduation for students from the Poder y Luz Ministry School, a program that is equipping men and women to lead and serve in their local churches.
Throughout the week, Manuel and his team also led a series of children’s outreaches that reached hundreds of kids and teenagers with the gospel. Through songs, Bible stories, and games, they shared the hope of Jesus and reminded every child that they are deeply loved by God. Joy and laughter filled the gatherings as hearts were opened to the good news.
Going Global Inc. is honored to partner with Manuel in expanding the ministry school through collaboration with Joel Holm and the Pillars leadership tool. We have worked together to have all of it translated into Spanish. This partnership is helping raise up a new generation of leaders who will continue to disciple, lead, and multiply the work of God throughout Cuba.
God is moving powerfully in Cuba, and we are thankful to see lives changed and leaders equipped to carry His light to every corner of the island.
Note: At the time this newsletter was written we had no idea that Cuba would be devistated my hurricane Melissa. Our partner in Cuba is already responding, please see below:
Dear Friends,
My heart goes out to our friends and churches in Cuba who are facing great loss this week.
A powerful hurricane has swept through Santiago, leaving behind heavy damage to homes, churches, and communities. Many families are hurting and in need of hope.
Our dear friend and ministry partner Manuel Robles is already on his way to bring relief and encouragement, helping local churches care for those affected and begin rebuilding what was lost.
For many years my church Revelation Church has partnered with Going Global Inc. to support the ministry in Cuba. We have seen God move in incredible ways there, and we believe He will continue to do so even in the midst of this storm.
I would love for you to join us in standing with our brothers and sisters in Cuba. Your gift can help provide emergency supplies, repair churches, and bring hope to families who need it most.
You can give at www.goingglobalinc.org/give Select “Caribbean Basin” as your giving category.
Thank you for your prayers, compassion, and generosity. Together, we can be a source of hope and strength for the people of Cuba.
With love and gratitude,
Pastor Betz Castro
