You did it!

Sharing from the truck.

“This year was better than previous. Many received Jesus as Lord and Savior. And we baptized several.” Raja

Every year at Christmas Raja and Sheeba travel to the outer islands in the Andaman/Nicobar chain to share the story of Christ’s birth. Thanks to your prayers and support—you went with them! Here’s your story as told by Raja.

Mobile Outreach: Since Christmas is the only festival we celebrate, we got permission to travel with strict Covid-19 protocols. People followed the truck to know more about Jesus. They came forward for prayers, invited us into their homes, provided us food and asked us to stay to share the Word of God. Seeing this response, our faith increased, and we thank God for His presence that followed our team. In some of the villages it was the first time they heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we shared, people received Jesus as their Savior, and we baptized them in a river. We noticed that people live without a shepherd, and we believe the new Bible college is going to play an important role in reaching all islands with the Good News of Jesus.

Widows thanking and praising the Lord.

Widows’ Outreach: This year we were able to reach 400 widows with the message of Christ’s birth. From many villages widows came to the celebration, some walking many miles. We saw tears of hope and joy as the Holy Spirit touched many hearts through the Word of God. We gave each a dress, a good meal, and hope—which is rare for them.

Orphanage: Christmas at Love Children’s Home was a treat for the kids. They wait the whole year for this very day. We invited all the nearby villagers to come and take part in this celebration. Kids presented cultural dances. The campus was full of people who came to celebrate the birth of Jesus. This was a joyous moment for every child in the Love Children Home.

Television: A Christmas episode contained the story of the birth of Jesus. Why did Jesus come into this world? What does His birth have to do with salvation? At least half a million-people watched the broadcast! Tens of thousands of people received blessings, peace and joy through this episode. We received hundreds of calls after the episode asking us to pray and share more about God.

Vietnam

More gifts and smiles!

The following is a report we received from our friends in Vietnam:

“We give thanks to the Lord and you for your prayers and financial support for our Christmas outreaches this year. Even with Covid, by God’s grace, the government allowed us to reach 26 locations with outreaches. Over 700 children attended and 100 received Jesus as Lord and Savior!

In addition, we trained 15 new children’s leaders and helped 14 churches with their Christmas celebrations. Nearly 600 people attended and 16 received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. May God bless you.

Cuba

Christmas in Cuba is always a time of great celebration for families! Wherever possible the leaders of Power and Light Ministries held Christmas celebrations for kids. They provided fun, gifts, and plenty of food for each child all centered around the story of Christ’s birth and what it means for them today. Thank you for your prayers and financial support for the ministry in Cuba! It is thriving, and you’re part of the success.

Praying for healing.

Food For Thought

“The great need is not to do things but to believe things.” Oswald Chambers

The need to do things describes us at times. We have to be busy, or we’re bored. One day after open-heart surgery, when I could do nothing physically, the Holy Spirit gave me this impression, “I love you for who you are—not what you do.” That helped and is a good reminder for all of us today—the great need is not to be doing things but believe and trust the Lord for all things!

Mission Thoughts

Bob Gustafson, Director of Growth and Finance

“Leadership gains authority and respect when the voiceless poor are treated fairly.” Proverbs 29:14 (MSG)

God’s word is filled with great leadership wisdom. All of us lead in our homes, families, business, ministry, and individual lives. By giving a voice to the voiceless and love to the poor, we gain influence as believers and leaders. We have the joy of working alongside leaders who specialize in serving the marginalized and the honor of helping you connect with the call.
