The Middle

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.” Habakkuk 2:3

“When writing, my heart wants to share and report on events and projects that are finished or, at least, near the end. This season of ministry finds me in the middle.

We are in the middle of an amazing global mentoring experience with over 20 young leaders from over seven different countries. There are six Kenyan leaders joining us on zoom.

The middle can be a time of feeling overwhelmed, distracted, and encouraged. Pray that each person stays committed to the program. It is so exciting to encourage these leaders to focus on God's calling and their relationship with Him.

Mwende and I are in the middle of adjusting to being back in Nairobi. God has blessed us with a great apartment and location. I am in the middle of creating new patterns, ministry plans, starting school and making decisions about Mwende’s schooling. Tutors, school, and which curriculum are swirling around in my head. She is really in the middle of transitioning with moving, child to teen, and finding her identity in all of these new phases. Keep her in prayer as she finds her gifts and adjust to new friends and schools.

I am in the middle of physically reconnecting with our ministry partners. Quite a few changes have rocked everyone personally and as ministry teams. Many of our pastors, families, children, and youth are emotionally drained but pushing on (worldwide). I am praying to have retreats and art therapy camps. I am in the middle of learning about these options.

Thank you for standing in the middle with us with your prayers and support. I know you too are in the middle of numerous issues, struggles, and victories. I thank God that Christ is in the middle with us. What God has promised will come to pass slowly but surely. Let’s stay faithful to Christ. Let Him heal our hearts and hold our hand.

We are in the middle of coming out of fearful times, news of wars, shocking racial killings, and trying to get back to normal. No matter how far down our emotions or spirits have dropped, His grace and love is deeper still. For those who have experienced the victory of God, encourage others. For those who are waiting...DO NOT GIVE UP IN THE MIDDLE. For those who have given up, return to the hope of Christ. The best is yet to come.”

Esther Hall, Kenya Regional Director

Ministry Update

The middle is becoming familiar at headquarters too. You have probably noticed that our newsletter format has changed to include more personal, individual stories. We, Dennis and Robin, are not disappearing but changing work assignments slightly. Bob Gustafson is now VP of Finance and Operations with more day-to-day responsibilities for the ministry. Our Board of Directors is more active providing substantial ministry input. We’re all in the middle! Pray for all of us. Thank for your prayers and support.

Be still and know that I am God!” Psalm 46:10

“God is meeting many lives in this moment at Love Children Home”. Rosemary Thang

When we are still and satisfied in His presence in spite of turmoil around us. When we know God personally as Lord and Savior, He moves in our midst. A salvation conference was held recently at Love Children Home for the children.

76 kids from the network of 13 orphanages received Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives. They were also baptized. It was a life changing event for them. Let’s all praise the Lord!

Youth prayer conference

The new Bible School in the Andaman Islands is in the middle of growth as well. They will be adding 15-20 new students when classes begin this month!

The school was started to teach and train young men and women to plant churches in all the 50 inhabited islands of the Andaman/Nicobar Island chain. The first year has completed, and 15 students are beginning their second year. We thank God for this.

Food For Thought

“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again—my Savior and my God!” Psalm 42:5

Ever been discouraged? Ever want to just give up? Put your hope in God. Begin to thank Him for all the blessings in your life. Praise Him for being your God.
