Having Compassion for People

Lately I have been thinking about how Jesus was so compassionate with the people that were right in front of him and how much hope is given when followers of Jesus imitate Him. This is part of why it’s such a joy to connect with our partners at Going Global Inc. These men and women give their lives, often in difficult and dangerous circumstances, to simply have compassion on people in front of them. Meet Sukhen and his team at Generation Bangladesh. They have been serving people with the love of Jesus for 22 years.

Sukhen and his family

Generation Bangladesh is a dynamic ministry that primarily is focused on children. Here is a highlight of what that looks like:

Children’s Homes

These are children that are in very hard situations, often abandoned, neglected, orphaned, and abused. These children are given the love of a family in 4 family homes. It’s here they are able to heal from trauma and grow in all areas of life—especially their relationship with God.

Training Children’s Leaders

During the last 7 months, we have done 5 Children’s Leader Trainings with 124 leaders equipped. God is using our team to train Children’s Workers from all over the country. As covid-19 cases have declined, our training team is arranging more trainings in the coming months.

Correspondance Course

Currently, 790 children are doing our correspondence courses which consist of 10 lessons. The lessons are written with Bible stories from the creation to salvation with attractive Bible pictures. Praise God for these effective ministries that present the gospel and discipleship!

Kid’s Camp

We have done 4 Kid’s Camps in rural Bangladesh in recent months, where 241 kids heard the Gospel of Christ. We felt the call Day 1 at Going Global Inc. to be a support to the remote pastors in these parts of the world. This is a perfect fit for how God has directed us to come alongside local leaders and help them fulfill their dreams.

Gift Boxes & The Gospel

We’re happy to report that we have completed all our distributions of 43,200 gift boxes. You know God is using our organization as a blessing for thousands of children every year. This partnership is with local churches that are able to build relationships with the children and people who receive the gift boxes.

Rescuing Girls from Human Trafficking

God helped us rescue 369 girls from trafficking and from sex work during the last 7 months. All of the girls would have a horrible life if they were not recused by our Anti Trafficking Team. Our team is trained and sent to bus, boat, and train stations where girls are rescued and cared for, and perpetrators are turned over to the police.

I just spoke with Sukhen over the phone, and he shared this heartfelt message with each of you, “Thank you for the regular financial support. The work that has been going for 22 years is now thriving because of you.” The first picture in this article is of Sukhen’s family and the newly constructed Ministry Center for Generation Bangladesh, which was a total miracle. Friends, you are making a HUGE DIFFERENCE and being a great conduit of HOPE around the world! People are understanding that they aren’t broken and in need of fixing, but rather knowing they are hurting and can find healing. They aren’t problems to be solved but a treasure created by God with a purpose.

Blessings,

Bob Gustafson

Personal Story

Meet one of our newest additions to the family at Love Children’s Home in Myanmar, Naing Min Khant, a 5 year old Burmese boy. His village’s information is undisclosed due to security reasons.

Naing Min Khant’s father left him and his 2 year old brother with their mother to start a new family life with another woman. After the father left, their mom decided to flee to Yangon in hopes to get some help for her kids.

A few days after they left their village, all the people back in their village were burnt alive. Luckily, they were able to escape with their lives.

His mom is taking care of his 2 year old brother in Yangon while working as a maid for different houses. Naing Min Khant is at Love Children’s Home under a safe environment and care with lots of love.

We are here to provide him with everything he needs both mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Kenya

This is where ministry and church started for Regina. Gathering children to share stories, build relationships, and hear about the hope of Jesus. Today, Regina is committed to the same work in a large slum of Nairobi, where she gives her life for the orphans, hurting, and hungry.

Food For Thought

“For not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful.” 2 Thessalonians 3:2-3

Not all people will have faith in the Lord. But the Lord is always faithful.

Paul told the same thing to Timothy. “If we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny Himself.” 2 Tim 2:13 God cannot deny who He is—a faithful God. Even when we are faithless for whatever reason, He remains faithful. He is not directed by our feelings or circumstances.
