Taken from Dennis’ Prayer Journal dated January 3, 2007

"Come, let us return to the LORD… He will heal us;
He will bandage us…He will revive…He will raise us up
So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD…
He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth." Hosea 6:1-3

This could be entitled the “lettuce sermon.” Let us return…let us know…let us press on. When I read these verses it appeared to me that we must be doing these three things daily. We must return to the Lord, know Him and press on. Most of us will say that we never left Him. But do we have the same fire burning in our hearts for Jesus like we once had? Do we really know Him as Lord and Savior? Do we press on through the valleys to get to know Him more intimately? There is a promise in these verses for us if we will simply follow the instructions. He will heal us, He will bandage us up, He will revive us and He will provide for us. And we will know life, abundant life. I know this implies that we have wandered off a bit. Have we?
